On a recent CBC radio discussion with people in Nunavut and the NWT, one thing several Arctic residents noted is they have received quite a few visits from Government Ministers and Conservative aides, but they are only interested in what they see as the economic benefits of global warming (shipping in the soon to be ice free NorthWest Passage, resource extraction) not in the life of the people or in working to avoid the catastrophic effects of warming.
